General Description: Deciduous. Similar to the Rosa arizonica but grows taller, has smaller thorns and larger flowers.
Height: 7 feet     Width: 4 feet

Elevation: 5500 - 9000 feet

Similar Species: Rosa arizonica

Flower Characteristics

Color: Pink   Shape: Regular, not in clusters     Tubular: N   Flowering Period: Jun - Aug
Description: Fragrant with 5 broad pink petals and yellow stamens to 2-1/4 inches wide.

Leaf Characteristics

Leaf Color: Dark Green   Type: Compound   Shape: Round or Oval   Margin: Toothed   Attachment: Alternate   Hairs: N
Description: Pinnate, 3 to 7 toothed, oval to elliptical leaflets to 1 inch long, leaf to 3 inches long.

Color: Red   Type: Berry-like   Description: Berry-like fruit (hip) that turns red when mature.

Bark Characteristics

Bark Color: Reddish   Bark Texture (Mature): Rough   Bark and Branch Description: Thorns are short, red, slender and nearly straight with reddish stems.
