Origin: Native   Life Cycle: Perennial
General Desc: Allium bigelovii is a very distinct species without obvious affinity to other North American species.
Height: 2 to 5 inches


Habitat

Habitat Description: Open, dry rocky soil in grassland, open chaparral, and desert scrub communities.
Plant Communities: Desert Scrub, Interior Chaparral, Semidesert Grasslands
Elevation: 1500 - 5000 feet


Flower Characteristics

Color: Pink to white     Shape: Bell-shaped in round clusters     Tubular: N     Flowering Period: Mar - May
Description: Pink or white flowers with red tips and a pink (not purple) midrib. Flowering stems are short, 2 to 4 inches tall.

Leaf Color: Green     Leaf Type: Simple     Leaf Shape: Narrow     Leaf Margin: Smooth     Leaf Attachment: Basal     Leaves Clasp: N
